Product Description
Native California Wildflower Seed Mix. May contain the following: Clarkia, Chinese Houses, Calif. Poppy, Globe Gilia, Gilia Tricolor, Goldfields, Tidy Tips, Golden and Arroyo Lupines, Baby Blue Eyes, Five Spot, Calif. Blue Bell, Lacy Phacelia Yarrow and Mountain Garland. Produces flowers that bloom thru spring, summer and fall. Approx. 600,000 seeds/lb. Use 7 lb./acre. 1/4 lb. seeds 1500 sq. ft. Fall is the time to plant these annual and perennial native wildflowers. For best results, remove weeds, then loosen top 1” of soil, level with a garden rake and scatter seeds evenly over the area. Mulch evenly with a fine layer of peat moss or compost 1/8” deep and water with a fine spray. After seedlings appear (which may take 2-6 weeks), water only as necessary. Once established, these wildflowers will bloom year after year, providing color and beauty, as long as you let them go to seed in the spring when they are done flowering.

Order arrived within a week of order! Yay! Can hardly wait until fall to plant my seeds.
Most will be shared at a Celebration of Life with friends and family but will save some for my own garden to remember a loved one.

Sees are Fine - Way too Much Chaff

The seeds are fine, but expensive when you realize that 25% or more is chaff. Also, there is no 1/2lb option so you must buy 2@1/4lb bags and get no volume price break. Shipping took longer than expected.

Easy to Sow and Grow

During the rainy season, I broadcast a packet of these seeds on a muddy hillside. No prep, as the hillside was so steep, I couldn't get my footing.
This spring, I'm seeing Five Spot, California poppies, Chinese houses, Blue-Eyed Grass and others.
I'm very pleased with the results and hope to see them again next year.

Great germination rate

I don't recognize the seedlings for all the plants in this mix, but for those I do recognize, I've been spotting them everywhere I've scattered these seeds. I'm not sure how many, if any, are going to make it—it seems like my neighborhood deer are enjoying the tender young leaves of the plants in this mix—but that's certainly no fault of the seeds.

I bought 5 pounds of this seed mix last year and scattered some on a steep hillside (end of spring, broadcast only with no mulch or raking, on clay heavy soil, zone 9b in the California foothills). All of the mix Bloomed beautifully! I ran out of rain so I saved the remaining seed in my cool garage. I sowed it this season and again, all are sprouting! This seed mix is easy and gorgeous.

I can't say anything about the quality of the seed since I haven't planted it yet, although it looks like exactly what it is supposed to be and I can't wait to see the results! I can, however, say that I have never had shipping be this quick- literally less than 24 hours (and I only selected 3 day shipping). I had to call to ask a question about my order and their customer service was excellent, the lady I spoke with was very nice and helpful. All around seems like a great company and a great product :)

This is such a great seed mix

I planted a pound last year along with the poppies on my hillside and had flowers all year long. Great for naturalizing and very pretty!
